Welcome to
Bloom Counselling.

I’m so glad you found me… if you are finding life, and all the things it throws at us, a little overwhelming at the moment and just feel like you need a little extra support, you have come to the right place.

Bloom was born out of a passion to help others, something that I have been doing for many years in my previous role as a Registered nurse, and now as a counsellor. Most of the time, we are able to manage lifes curveballs, sometimes we can’t - we may feel lost and unsure and just need someone to talk to. If you are feeling like this, I can help.

Whatever your circumstances, your experience is unique to you and sometimes, talking things through can make all the difference.

  • Cancer is really scary and really, really overwhelming. Having someone to talk to and help manage my fears, share my concerns, understand ‘medical terminology’, help me prepare for scans and tests and develop coping strategies had been powerful in managing my last three years as a cancer patient. Not only having someone to talk to, but someone who ‘gets it” has been the greatest gift. Thank you, Kate.

  • My Father was diagnosed with a secondary brain cancer. This was not going be a curable cancer, or a cancer that would allow a long period of time to spend with my Father, it was “a matter of time”. Kate was at my side from start to finish and continues to be to this day. I cannot exactly put into words the support that Kate gave me. She listened, advised… and empathised with me. Kate, through her own life experiences…had a gentle and calming effect whilst giving amazing support, advice and guidance. She had such a “soothing” way and was open and honest. She is an amazing listener who has the ability to create amazing rapport. Her dedication and compassion is a credit to her. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend Kate to anyone.

  • I have known Kate for close to 10 years, and whilst her kind spirit and professionalism have always been beyond what I believed any one human being could possess, it wasn’t until my family was struck down with cancer that I truly felt the full impact. Following my mum being in remission from Stage 4 breast cancer for 13 years, she was struck down with cancer of the bones approx. 5 years ago During her battle and continual growth in pain, living in the country, when she ventured to Melbourne to share time with her family Kate would …. check on Mums mental welfare and provide support that lifted a horrendous situation to be bearable through her kind, caring and informative care. There was never a question too hard to ask, as a family we felt both supported through Mum’s fight but beyond her passing Kate has continued to be a lifeblood of support and compassion. I can’t speak more highly of the impact she has and will continue to have on our lives. Thank you, Kate

  • A few years ago, I had a double mastectomy for breast cancer. Obviously, my husband and I were both anxious and Kate was such a calming influence on us both……My strongest memories are of her compassion, ability to listen and her warmth and kindness were very comforting and I felt physically and emotionally very safe. It was a time of great change for me and I trusted her throughout…. even my husband leant on Kate for support. She made such a difference in a difficult time and we will always be grateful for her compassion.
